A survey conducted in Turkey reveals how crypto currencies perceptions have evolved over the last year.

Turkey’s crypto user base has grown eleven fold over the last year as per a survey conducted through Turkish crypto exchange Paribu. 

The Crypto currency Awareness and Perception Survey  of 2021 was conducted by Akademetre Research showing the behaviours of Turkish citizens toward Bitcoin and other crypto currencies.

A noteworthy discovery of last year’s research was that only 0.7% of over 6,000 respondents traded crypto and on top of that 84% of respondents had never heard of crypto currencies. These results have changed with previous reports that claimed one-fifth of the Turkish population was exposed to crypto currency.

In 2021 however, shows a substantial change in terms of crypto currency usage in Turkey. Out of about 1,400 respondents 7.7% said they traded with crypto currencies marking an escalation of 11 times in crypto users compared to the previous year.

According to the survey conducted 11% of respondents with crypto currency knowledge have become active crypto users. As a major crypto exchange in the country, Paribu reflects the adoption speed with its user count, which grew from 600,000 to over 4 million within a year.
