The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index Fund’s application to list on NYSE Arca, extending the review period by 45 days to March 3, 2025.
If approved, this fund would become the first diversified spot cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the United States, offering investors exposure to a range of digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP (XRP), and Cardano (ADA).
The SEC’s extension reflects its cautious approach to cryptocurrency-related financial products, emphasizing the need for thorough evaluation to ensure investor protection and market integrity.
This delay comes amid a series of SEC decisions on cryptocurrency ETFs, including the recent approval of spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs earlier this year, indicating the regulator’s ongoing efforts to balance innovation with regulatory oversight in the rapidly evolving crypto market.
