Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has been appointed as an advisor to Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency, signaling the Central Asian nation’s intent to strengthen its position in the global crypto space.

Zhao’s new advisory role will focus on shaping the country’s digital asset strategy, including regulatory frameworks, infrastructure development, and integration of blockchain technologies into the national economy. The appointment reflects Kyrgyzstan’s growing interest in leveraging crypto innovation to attract investment and modernize its financial sector.

Despite stepping down from his role at Binance following legal challenges in the United States, Zhao remains an influential figure in the industry. His involvement is expected to bring international expertise and credibility to Kyrgyzstan’s crypto ambitions.

Kyrgyzstan has previously explored digital asset mining and is now expanding its scope to include broader regulatory and economic frameworks. With Zhao’s input, the country aims to build a more transparent and innovation-friendly environment for blockchain and crypto adoption.
